Typography and The Environment Project. In this project we were asked to create a specified and themed map of an area of our chioce. I chose nightlife in Gemmayzeh in specific and the Fortune Teller Origami to be the theme of my map. As for the illustration used in this map, it is a minimalistic and simplified illustration of a person guiding you to the places.
Since my map will be guiding people to pubs and clubs in Gemmayzeh, I thought of making the 'where to go decision part' easier with a bit of fun. People using this map will enjoy playing the furtune game as they will be choosing where to go.
Gemmayzeh is a street in Beirut full of pubs and clubs. After deciding where to go the user of my map will start at the beginning of the street and be guided by the places shown. For example, Drink and Sing is located the beginning of the street on the right where as to go to Le Cedre you should pass by The Plub and 22 on the left.
As I added a bit of fun and sarcasm to the names of the places to match the theme of the map.
